Who this is
This site, prismandpoise.com, is run by Prism & Poise LLC, a single-member limited liability company in the State of Washington (“Prism & Poise,” “I,” or “me”). This policy explains what information the site collects, why, where it goes, and the choices you have. I keep it short and honest on purpose.
02
What I collect
Things you tell me. When you fill in the contact form, you share your name, your email, and — if you choose to add them — your business, which services you’re interested in, your timeline, how you found me, and whatever note you write. If you email me directly or subscribe to the newsletter, I have your email and whatever you send.
Things the site notices on its own. Like most websites, this one uses analytics to understand which pages people read and roughly where visitors come from — general, aggregated information such as page views, device type, and approximate region. This is collected through cookies and similar tools (see “Cookies and analytics” below).
03
Why I use it
To write you back and talk about working together; to provide and improve the services you ask for; to send the newsletter if you subscribed to it; and to understand how the site is doing so I can make it better. I do not sell your information, and I don’t send you marketing you didn’t ask for.
04
Where it goes
A few trusted services help run this site. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job, and each has its own privacy policy:
- Airtable — stores contact-form submissions so I don’t lose your note.
- Netlify — hosts the small program that carries your form submission to Airtable.
- Substack — runs the newsletter, if you subscribe. Your email lives there, and you can unsubscribe from any issue in one click.
- Google Analytics — provides the anonymous, aggregated site statistics described above.
- Etsy — if you buy a digital product, the purchase happens on Etsy, under Etsy’s own privacy policy; I never see your full payment details.
- Hostinger — hosts the website itself.
05
Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. This site uses them mainly for analytics. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies won’t break the site — you can still read every page and use the contact form.
06
How long I keep it
I keep contact-form messages and emails as long as I need them to help you and to keep sensible business records, and no longer than that. Newsletter subscriptions last until you unsubscribe. If you’d like your information removed, just ask (below) and I’ll take care of it.
07
Your choices
You can ask me to show you what I have, correct it, or delete it; you can unsubscribe from the newsletter whenever you like; and you can decline cookies in your browser. To make any of these requests, email melanee@prismandpoise.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as Washington’s privacy laws, the CCPA, or the GDPR — I’ll honor those requests too.
08
Children
This site is meant for adults running or starting businesses. It isn’t directed to children, and I don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
09
Keeping it safe, and changes
I take reasonable care to protect the information the site collects, though no method of storing or sending data over the internet is ever perfectly secure. If this policy changes, the updated version will appear here with a new “last updated” date.
